Your Hair & Makeup
Hair and make-up can be natural or, a more ‘boudoir’ style look, depending on your preferences. It is far better to have your hair and make-up done by a trained professional. The make-up artists I use will come to your hotel or home before I arrive and have you looking gorgeous for my arrival. All of my 3 girls are highly trained in make-up for photography, please make sure, if you are using your own artist, that they are qualified to apply make-up for photography. My makeup girls include eyelashes as part of your package and will be with you for 2 hours before i arrive
If you are doing your own hair & make-up here are some tips:
Lipstick should be at least one shade darker than your normal shade. Avoid frosted lipsticks as they are reflective for photography. Red is perfect for boudoir but I understand that a lot of women do not like red, so just make sure its darker than natural
What you precieve to be heavy makeup diminishes 50% in your images
Blush and eye make-up should be applied slightly heavier than normal, and very neatly and precisely.
Eye-shadow should be a shade lighter than normal.
Nail polish should be a dramatic red, or a natural french polish, no on trend colours like greens or blues.
Use a powder-based foundation, as oil-based will appear shiny, or use a powder over your entire foundation to achieve a matte look.
Please try not to tan before your shoot, I prefer no tan lines, and the more natural your skin is, the better. No spray tans please, as they do tend to look orange in photos
I recommend you have a face scrub before your shoot and hydrate well with a good moisturiser
And lastly I strongly recommend you use one of my three girls. They have worked with me for years, and their work is perfection.
